Baby name/my life questions, your ideas?
These are legit questions because I’m kind of describing myself and what you would do if you were me. If you want to skip straight to the baby name questions go to number 4. I want your ideas please!:

1. You meet a man named James with brown hair and brown eyes. You two date for 7 years and he finally proposes! Where does he propose? What would be your ideal wedding ring?

2. James wants to get married at Disneyland (he really does) but you want a more intimate/mature wedding, where do you two decide to compromise and get married? Describe your dress and cake and wedding if you’d like or post pics!

3. For the honeymoon you can’t agree either. James being the obsessed Disney freak that he is wants to go to Disney World, but you want to go somewhere more exotic like Paris, Nova Scotia, or Australia. Where do you two decide to go?

4. When you come back you find out you are pregnant! You give birth to a gorgeous boy with brown hair and brown eyes just like James. You both want the middle name to be James, but can’t decide on a first name. You are both debating between Brandon, Vincent, Ryan, Zachary, Adam, and Oliver or something along those lines. What do you name him?

5. A year later you two decide to get a pet. You already have a cat named Baron but want another exotic cat that looks like this. She’s a beautiful female kitten and you want a name that sounds cute with Baron what do you name her?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co mmons/c/c4/Savannah_Cat_portrait.jpg

6. Immediately afterwards you are pregnant again! This time with a girl that you’ve always wanted! She has golden brown hair and blue eyes! You really want the middle name to be Charlotte after your dad, but can’t decide on a first name, you just want it to sound good with her brother, what do you name her?

7. Years later the kids are now 5 and 6 and you are a very happy family but you are tired of living in California. You still want to stay in the U.S. but move to the most beautiful rural place you can think of, where do you go?

8. Shortly after moving you are pregnant again, one more girl! She has black hair and blue eyes. You want the middle name to be either Isabel, Violet, Lauren, Eve, or Cynthia (all family names) and you want something a little more unique yet feminine for a first name. What do you call her?

Thanks for the help!

Why life is so unfair? As shown by Roger Federer.?
In the tennis world, Roger Federer is the unrivaled greatest of all time while still at the age of 28! He hardly seemed the hard-working type, and even if he thinks he trains hard, I will doubt Andy Murray or Nadal would agree.

He now has 2 kids to take care of, his coach is his wife, I doubt his desire to win outweighs other competitors and he still beat Andy Murray in straight sets! Who has a team of coaching staffs and a training schedule that should kill a man! On top of that, he has been injury-free throughout his career!

In a world where we are told to work hard and more importantly work smart, it only shows that no matter how hard an individual trains, there will be some God-given talent that lucked out in the gene pool or a pure luck-box in life to claim all the glory, all the limelight, all the fame, love and money.

Lets make it clear that I am not a Federer-hater, but I am jealous of/bitter-at the success he enjoys, especially so with a lot less effort than his competitor. Same applies to the lucky individuals in the world.

This is also a philosophical question, if you have any philosophical quotes or viewpoints derived from yourselves or from philosophers, please puke it alll out here.

It’s natural to be jealous of talented people, that is why they gain adoration and dislike as they go from strength to strength from on-lookers.

It’s like the kid in class who is crap at gym but watches some inspirational movie and decides to train loads like ROCKY (lol) thinkin’ he’ll become the world’s greatest boxer… only to get knocked out by some girl in the first round.

You either have it or you don’t. Loads of people try to make it as a professional athlete, but only the very best get to make a living from it. So life isn’t unfair, he would have worked very hard to get where he was. The hours of practice, the not going out when everyone else is when you’re little cause you’re training/got a tournament the next day. The constant sacrafice of friends and relationships because you travel all around the world with your bag as company. Feeling lonely. Feeling inadequate when you lose a match, questioning if you get injured, is your whole life over?

The monumental pressure of millions of fans watching you, those that want you to succeed - your countrymen, the pressure of fulfilling a country’s hopes …. those that want you to fail, BOOING your shots, waiting for you to fail. On national tv.

Federer is only human, it is very easy to forget this because he makes it seem effortless, but we witnessed him pretty much unravel just over a year ago, we’ve seen him cry. He is mentally very strong, and so what you class as "a lot less effort" is merely a front, a professional front of a champion.

Federer suits the saying "still waters run deep".

As the song goes "10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power and will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain and 100% reason to remember the name". He worked hard for everything he has now, he still works hard. His family put a lot into it.

Yes, there was a degree of luck, and some of his talent he was born with but he went through a lot to get to where he is. It took discipline. I definitely know how you feel though. I’m more jealous of Mirka i’ll add but hey :P He does put in a lot of effort, he’s been through more than any of us will ever know. The death of his ex-coach, the rough patch, the racket-breaking before he learned to control it. Yes he has had a lot of lucky breaks but in my opinion, he created those lucky breaks for himself. It’s the case of nature nurture again. It’s hard to determine how much of what he is comes down to his own work but i think it’s more than anyone realises. It’s so easy to dwell on what others have and wish we could be them, i know that more than anyone but you have to focus on what you have, realise there are people in much worse situations (Haiti) and forge that success for yourself. I sincerely hope i can become successful, i certainly intend to try and i hope you succeed too.

i have a question on switching from clairnet to tenor sax?
i am a clairnet player im a freshman and ive been playing since 4th grade.
Now im looking into jazz and basketball band (since marching band is over) and i am wondering how long the switch from clairnet to tenor sax will take and if it is a good choice rather then alto or baritone. Clairnet is the only wind instrument i play atm.

Also im wondering if its possible to learn tenor sax in 2–3 weeks>?

I also started as a clarinetist and later added saxophone. I encourage emphasis first on building an embouchure; it’s different than that of a clarinet- all the musculature that surrounds the lips push forward as if saying "ooh" and the lower jaw relaxes to create an opening large enough to keep from clamping the reed closed. The majority of fingerings are reminiscent of the upper register of clarinet; spend most of your time at first getting comfortable with the five Bb fingerings, then check in on side C (useful to clean up left hand techniques as the chromatic F# does in the right hand), the plateaus (especially articulated G#) and the palm keys (save these for last since these are for the extreme upper register).
If you put tone first and put in enough time, three weeks time could well have you competently playing many (if not all) parts. Best wishes for this endeavor; please email me through my profile if I may be of further help to smooth out your transition.

St Petersburg native | Nov 21, 2008

It’s not a huge change, but it’s a good choice as tenor sax is a b-flat instrument, the same as the clarinet. Alto and Baritone saxes are e-flat instruments.
Of course, you will have fingering changes to learn, but you should be able to play reasonably well in 3 weeks.
Good luck.

What happens if you put a bullet inside a microwave and start the timer?
I’m working on a fictional piece and this somehow ended up in it. I didn’t actually want to try this myself to find out but I’m sure someone has to have tried it. Would the primer explode and possibly ruin the microwave? How long would it take for the primer to explode if it did? If anyone knows of any news story or personal encounter with a microwaved bullet, please let me know. Thank you!
By the way, for gun aficionados, I actually mean the cartridge and/or round, not the bullet. I understand the bullet is a part of the actual cartridge =)
Wait so this has actually happened before??

There is a programme on UK TV called BRAINIAC it is fronted by Richard Hammond [the chap who nearly killed himself by rolling his car at 300 mph.]
He loves to blow up microwaves. [and caravans] [and anything else he can get his hands on]
Try asking him on the Brainiac website if he will try the bullet trick in a microwave, we can all watch him do it from the safety of our own homes then.
Should be fun. Safer than doing yourself.
While we are on the subject of microwaves, here’s a little party trick.
Immerse the cap of a light bulb in a cup of water.
Place cup in microwave.
Turn on microwave.
Its magic, the bulb lights, with no connection to the electric supply.
Ive done it several times [they call me the mad professor] and never blown up a microwave yet, but Richard Hammond does all his tricks in the middle of a field, and he gets behind a mound of earth.
Just make sure the metal part of the bulb is totally immersed in water or you will get blobs of molten metal all over the inside of the microwave. [thats a good way to end a party]

Hasn't Chicago Democratic style politics started? The White house either Obama or Rahm Emanuel?
directs four cabinet heads to write a letter to the Governor of Arizona threatening to cut off all stimulus money the secretaries were LaHood, Vilsack, Salazar and Donovan and the letter outlined the projects that would be affected if Gov. Jan Brewer did not reign in Senator Kyle. Sen Kyle was against the stimulus. This is the way Obama was taught while in Chicago and Illinois has always done politics this way only in Chicago Kyle would end up deep sea fishing in Lake Michigan. Obama has used "strong arm" Tactics and threats against the Automobile company bond holders now this. Once a hoodlum alway a hoodlum but this shows that Obama and crew have no fear of exposure from the media and will do as they please.

I haven’t seen any evidence of a threat to the Arizona governor. However, its ridiculous to pretend presidential administrations have never pressured state officials before 2009.

Nice try.
Beverly | Jul 16, 2009

Why does this surprise you? Our government is a cesspool of corruption and power and gets worse by the day. Obama didn’t start it either. It has been going on for quite some time and through several administrations. Those currently in government seem to have the mistaken idea that only THEY know what is good for the American people…and are determined to cram it down our throats whether we like it or not.

It is time for a change alright…but the change needs to come from the people themselves. It is time they show Washington insiders that we have had enough and are not going to just sit by and let them bury us and our children in debt.

I for one intend to vote for what I hope will be a viable candidate for the house and senate from a thrid party….to restore balance if nothing else.
